The Caramulo Motorfestival, the largest motoring festival in Portugal, attracted over 60.000 people to the Caramulo Mountains to marvel at the beauty of over two thousand cars, motorcycles and aeroplanes, and with the adrenaline of motorsport at the Castrol Historic Hillclimb, which this year broke its participation record, with over 180 cars throughout the three days of the event.

The Caramulo Motorfestival brought to its stages a stellar line-up of guest drivers, highlighting the presence of Tiago Monteiro and his son Noah, Pedro Matos Chaves, Pedro Salvador, Rui Madeira, Nuno Rodrigues da Silva, Carlos Tavares, Hugo Lopes, and also the siblings Francisco and Leonor Barreto.

The most thrilling moment of the Caramulo Motorfestival occurred with the debut of an F1 car climbing the Castrol Historic Hillclimb. Emerson Fittipaldi’s Copersucar FD03 climbed the hill driven by Tiago Monteiro, driving the crowd wild.

The 2026 edition also featured several exhibitions, notably “Magic Formula”, dedicated to Formula 1, which drew over 22,000 people to the Caramulo Museum and the Caramulo Experience Center. “World War II Live and in Colour”, which moved from the doors of the Museum to the streets of the town of Caramulo, was also one of the highlights of the festival.

The Motorfestival was also the stage for various presentations, from new brand models, which this year included the world premiere of the Opel Corsa GSE, but also special projects, such as the new UMM, the return of the Portaro prototype, and also the Porsche 911 SPC.

The event featured several rides, gatherings and concentrations of cars and motorcycles, in addition to the Automobilia Fair, Bikersville by Cartrack, Air Show, Off-Road Track & Bivouac by Goodyear, Motorlândia, Trial Show and climbs by classic and racing motorcycles up the hill.

The Caramulo Motorfestival returns in 2027, on 3, 4 and 5 September.
