Passionate about cars from a young age, Carlos Tavares began his career in motor sports as a track marshal at the Autódromo do Estoril. His debut as a driver took place in 1980, in Vila do Conde, driving a Group 1 Alfasud Sprint, where he qualified in fifth place. Three years later, he ventured into rallying with his friend Bruno Cébile as navigator and Arnaud Montagné as assistant coach.
Among the notable moments of his career are his participation in the Monte Carlo Rally with his own team, Clementeam Racing, and, in 2014, his victory in the A2 class of the 24 Hours of Barcelona, driving a Peugeot RCZ.
Recognized by many as a true Car Guy, he dedicates his weekends to racing, driving and personally taking care of his collection of classic cars — machines that don’t just sit in the garage, but continue to compete and live on the road.
