Carlos Tavares

Brief info

A true enthusiast of the motorised world, Carlos Tavares has dedicated his career to the most diverse aspects of the automotive and mobility sectors.

Passionate about cars from a very young age, Carlos Tavares began his career in motor sports as a track marshal at the Estoril Autodrome. He made his debut as a driver in 1980, in Vila do Conde, at the wheel of a Group 1 Alfasud Sprint, where he qualified in fifth place. Three years later, he ventured into rallying with his friend Bruno Cébile as navigator and Arnaud Montagné as technical assistant.

Among the highlights of his career are his participation in the Monte Carlo Rally with his own team, Clementeam Racing, and, in 2014, his victory in the A2 class of the 24 Hours of Barcelona, at the wheel of a Peugeot RCZ.

Recognised by many as a true car guy, he dedicates his weekends to racing, driving and personally taking care of his collection of classic cars — machines that don’t sit idle in the garage, but continue to compete and live on the road.
