Fritz d’Orey

Fritz d'Orey was the first driver with a Brazilian sports license to reach Formula 1 in the 50s
He was one of the first drivers with a Brazilian sports license to attempt an international career. He raced in Formula Junior and adapted well.
Some opportunities to try out Formula 1 quickly arose, which happened at the 1959 French Grand Prix, with a Maserati 250F rented to Scuderia Centro Sud. He finished in 10th place.
This was followed by the British Grand Prix, where he was forced to withdraw. Entered in the following events – German and Portuguese Grand Prix – would not play in the match. He returned to the United States Grand Prix with the Camoradi team, driving the Maserati-powered Tec-Mez starting from 17th on the grid, but retired on lap six due to an oil leak.
In 1960, a serious accident in the training of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, when driving a sport Ferrari, ended his career as a driver and imposed an eight-month recovery.
