The Caramulo Motorfestival is preparing a rare and electrifying moment for motorsport enthusiasts. The legendary Formula 1 Copersucar FD03, driven at the time by Wilson Fittipaldi, Arturo Merzario, and Ingo Hoffmann, comes back to life on the mythical Castrol Historic Hillclimb.

Five decades later, this single-seater will make itself heard once again. To mark this historic return to the tarmac, the wheel will be handed over to Tiago Monteiro, the only Portuguese driver to have reached the podium in Formula 1.

Developed in Brazil in 1975, the Copersucar Fittipaldi was a pioneering project. Weighing just 630 kg, with rear-wheel drive and a 2993 cc V8 engine, it delivers 440 hp managed by a 5-speed gearbox — a pure machine, built to race and to thrill.

This Formula 1 car can also be admired up close at the Museu do Caramulo, as part of the “Magic Formula” temporary exhibition.
