Filipe Albuquerque’s passion for motorsport began in 1993 when he drove a go-kart for the fi rst time at the Batalha Karting Track. At 22, he completed his first official test behind the wheel of a Toro Rosso F1 single-seater, an experience that would lead him on a path of twists and turns, ultimately crowned with success. He has raced on all the major tracks of the world motorsport calendar, with the Circuit de la Sarthe standing out early on. There, during the 2014 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans—racing for the official Audi team—he was awarded the ‘Rookie of the Year’ prize. His track record continues to grow: victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona (in the GT class in 2013 and overall in 2018, sharing the wheel with João Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi), 1st place in the LMP2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2020, and winning both the European Le Mans Series (2020) and the FIA WEC (2019/2020 season). These are just a few of the highlights of an ongoing journey. Currently, Filipe Albuquerque competes in the IMSA championship with Wayne Taylor Racing and in the FIA WEC with United Autosports.
