Pedro Lamy was the fi rst Portuguese driver to score points in Formula 1, boasting an enviable career on the biggest stages of Endurance racing. Following a meteoric rise that included successive titles in the National Formula Ford Championship, the European Formula Opel/Lotus Championship, the German Formula 3 Championship, and fi nishing as runner-up in the International. Formula 3000 Championship, Pedro Lamy became the second Portuguese driver to compete in a Formula 1 Grand Prix. Over four seasons, Pedro Lamy participated in 32 Formula 1 Grands Prix, driving for Lotus and Minardi. In 1997, he competed in the FIA GT Championship, and in 1999, he was part of the formidable Mercedes-Benz team at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2000 and 2001, Pedro Lamy competed in the DTM championship at the wheel of a Team Rosberg Mercedes-Benz CLK. After his departure from DTM, he raced in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, which he won driving a Chrysler Viper. He was a factory driver for Peugeot Sport and Aston Martin in Endurance racing, becoming the World Endurance Champion in the LMGTE Am category in 2017, and winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGTE Am class in 2012. He also secured 2nd place overall at the 2007 24 Hours of Le Mans, aboard the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP.
